Storage of anilox rollers

Problems that arise in the on-site application of anilox rollers, such as the bulging phenomenon,
high-precision ceramic anilox rollers are precision components in flexographic printing equipment, which greatly enhances the development of flexographic printing technology, can make the printed products colorful, clear and realistic. The correct daily maintenance in daily use is a direct guarantee for preventing roller damage, extending service life and obtaining stable high-quality printing quality. The following is a brief introduction to the precautions for the use of ceramic anilox rollers.

Things to note
1. Storage:
(1) The storage wooden box of ceramic anilox rollers should be stored in a dry indoor area to prevent damage caused by moisture, rain and direct sun exposure.
(2) When replacing the ceramic anilox roller, protect the surface of the ceramic anilox roller to prevent collision damage. The ceramic anilox rollers that have been completed must be cleaned in a timely and thorough manner. Do not store uncleaned and undried ceramic anilox rollers. When storing, wrap the rollers with packaging foil made of natural fibers and then put them in the storage wooden box.
(3) The ceramic anilox rollers not stored in the box should be fixed on a dedicated storage bracket. It is strictly forbidden to place the roller surface inclined on the ground, as it may easily cause damage to the ceramic coating on the surface of the ceramic anilox roller.
2. Do not fix the belt directly on the roller surface of the ceramic anilox roller to lift the moving roller to avoid sliding and breaking the roller when lifting. The correct way is to secure the strap or other support to the ends of the roller and avoid contacting the edges of the roller or other parts of the ceramic spray.
3. Before using the ceramic anilox roller, it must be carefully cleaned and carefully checked to ensure that there is no oil and dust.
4. After each printing, the surface of the ceramic anilox roller must be cleaned in time and thoroughly to avoid remaining ink drying and blocking the mesh hole. Once the remaining ink is drying and solidifying at the bottom of the mesh hole, it is difficult to effectively clean it, and it will accumulate more and more, reducing the effective volume of the mesh hole, reducing the ink release amount, affecting the printing quality.
5. Use mesh microscopes frequently to detect mesh holes of ceramic anilox rollers. If wear and clogging are found, timely measures should be taken.
6. Place a magnetic filter in the ink tank to remove metal impurities to avoid metal impurities scratching the surface of the ceramic anilox roller.
7. Do not overpressure the ink scraper in order to get more shades to increase wear of the ceramic anilox roller and scraper.
8. Do not press and rotate the dry ceramic anilox roller with the ink scraping rubber roller or ink scraping knife to avoid damage.
9. Every time you update the ink scraper, you need to reset the pressure. Incorrect pressure setting will cause scraper fragments to damage the surface of the ceramic anilox roller.
10. Stop using scrapers that have exceeded the maximum wear degree, establish a daily process to monitor the wear of scrapers, and steadily control the wear degree of the scrapers to avoid damaging the ceramic anilox roller.
11. Always keep the surface of the ceramic anilox roller parallel to the scraper, and check and calibrate the perpendicularity and horizontality of the roller and the scraper every 15 days.
12. Refuse to use inferior inks containing impurities to avoid damage to ceramic anilox rollers, scrapers or ink scrapers.
13. Remove dust and impurities on the surface of the printed product before printing and keep the printing part clean.
14. After printing, remove ink and dust splashing on the machine in time and restore the cleaning of the printing part.
15. Choose the correct mesh depth and opening ratio. The correct proportions mean smoother surfaces and slower scraper wear while making it easier to clean the mesh.

Daily maintenance of anilox rollers

As an indispensable part in flexographic equipment, ceramic anilox rollers need to be maintained during operation. Common cleaning methods include wire brushes, chemical cleaning agent soaking, sodium bicarbonate drying and cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, etc. The cleaning methods that cannot be used are also briefly introduced.

Maintenance
Correct daily cleaning and maintenance methods
1. The wire brush is cleaned
with solvent for daily cleaning, and then applied to the surface of the ceramic anilox roller with a special chemical cleaning agent. The mesh hole is cleaned with a special stainless steel wire brush with a wire diameter of 0.07 mm.
2. Soak and clean chemical agent.
Use a special ceramic anilox roller mesh chemical cleaner. First soak the roller for 1 to 48 hours, then spray the solution to the rotating ceramic anilox roller through a high-pressure spray device moving axially along the roller, clean the residual ink in the mesh, and finally rinse with clean water and blow dry.
3. The sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) drying and cleaning system
adopts the principle of spraying dried sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) powder to the ceramic anilox roller at low pressure to impact the residual dry ink in the mesh, which can effectively clean the ceramic anilox roller.
4. Ultrasonic cleaning
immerse the roller in the chemical cleaning solution and rotate slowly. The ultrasonic generator vibrates the solution, producing countless micro bubbles that hit the mesh. The bubbles explode under pressure to hit the mesh wall to achieve the purpose of removing residues in the mesh and thoroughly cleaning the mesh. Pay attention to using appropriate ultrasonic intensity, frequency, time and solution temperature to prevent excessive cleaning and damage to the mesh of the ceramic anilox roller.

The following cleaning methods are strictly prohibited
1. Steam spraying
it will damage the engraving surface of the anilox roller and cause corrosion of the steel body.
2. Fire
The flames sprayed by high temperatures in the fire will seriously damage the surface of the ceramic, causing the anilox roller to be heated and deformed and leave traces on the ceramic.
3. Acid and its chemical substitutes
This is the worst way to try to clean the roller. Many acid compounds can seriously affect ceramic spraying and corrode the shaft head and steel body, and the acid can also affect the health of the operator.
